Tax Bracket Racing -- 1994 Pro Start Super Comp Dragster
Purchased by Tax Bracket Racing in 2000, the team’s 1994 Pro Start Super Comp dragster made its debut in competition in 2001 with Frankie Cicerale handling the driving chores. A Gil Davis Racing Engines prepared 481 cubic inch big block Chevrolet estimated at producing over 700 horsepower powers the car, weighing in at 1650 lbs. and measuring 235”.
Backed by a Ken Moses Race Transmissions Powerglide transmission and a Select Performance 8-inch converter, the power is transferred to the ground via a Strange Engineering 9-inch center section, which turns Strange axles and Weld Pro Star wheels wrapped in Hoosier rubber. With a best elapsed time of 8.06 seconds and a best speed of 165 miles per hour, Frankie drove the car to the Winner’s Circle at the 2002 LODRS event held at Cecil County Dragway and a seventh place points finish in the 2002 LODRS Super Comp points chase and a fourth place finish in the 2003 Division 1 Open Series Super Comp points hunt.
When running in Super Comp, the dragster is throttle stopped to the 8.90 index with a Biondo racing products Mega 450 delay box and a Biondo racing products electronic throttle stop.
